Five GP surgeries come together under one roof
Utilising the PIC framework, Prime has appointed national building contractor, Speller Metcalfe, to construct a new £6m GP healthcare hub in the centre of Hereford.
The medical centre will be built on a site close to the railway station in the heart of the city and will house five established city surgeries which are operated by the newly-formed Hereford Medical Group.
Greyfriars, Moorfield House, Aylestone Hill, Sarum house and King Street GP surgeries will join together under one roof to provide more-accessible, efficient and up-to-date primary care services, as well as offering specialist services for patients from other city practices.
The health centre has been designed by Worcester-based architects, One Creative Environments, to be a highly-sustainable and energy-efficient building and will include facilities for an on-site pharmacy, 92 parking spaces, 14 cycle stands and an ambulance bay.
Work will start on site in January and the new surgery is expected to open in early 2020.
